Single Mom's Oil Change
Every fall and spring, a crew of men transforms the church's parking lot into a temporary "Jiffy Lube." Moms drive into the church parking lot, hand over their keys, and then go inside the building for coffee and refreshments.
Ladies inside acting as hostesses cheerfully serve coffee and befriend these moms while they wait for their oil change to be completed.
Often visitors open their hearts once they realize we are not asking for anything from them in return.
This is a wonderful opportunity to share God's love with those in need.
The next Single Mom's Oil Change will be Saturday, October 16 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Handymen (or women): During each event, we service about 50 vehicles. That means we need 15-20 men to change oil, add windshield washer fluid, and perform a general inspection of the vehicle. If you like to use your hands, this opportunity is for you!
Hostesses: While their cars are being serviced, the moms are invited into the church where coffee and snacks await them. We need women to volunteer their time to simply chat with and love the single moms.
Donation Supply-ers: We always put donations of oil (preferably 10W 30 weight), windshield washer fluid, snacks, or juice to use! We need people who are willing to donate one or more of those items to one Saturday morning event.
