 MENTORING:

It's easy to think that to make a really big impact you need to plan a large event, organize a program or develop a mass marketing strategy.   While God certainly works through these kinds of things, defaulting to them could make us miss a powerful principle we see modeled over and over again in the Bible: the power of developing one-on-one mentoring relationships.   That is, one person journeying together with another person for the purpose of helping them become all that God desires them to be.

It seems amazingly simple, and yet we believe these kinds of relationships most closely reflect Jesus' heart for the process of transforming lives, living out the Gospel, and mobilizing for Kingdom impact.  As a result, these kinds of relationships are becoming increasingly more central to the way we're thinking about doing ministry as a church.   We also want to fan these relationships into flame in as many places as we can, encouraging you to consider what a life-changing mentoring relationship might look like for you.

It’s our desire to serve as a catalyst for engaging you in a life-shaping mentoring relationship.   Apart from mentoring relationships God may arrange for you through informal means, here’s a sampling of some current places where you can get involved in mentoring relationships within existing Christ Community ministries.

Mentoring Team.   The Mentoring Team serves to come alongside believers at all stages of their spiritual journey.   Mentors offer a listening ear and a safe place for people to process their experiences in life in relationship with Christ.  Click here to view, download and/or print a one-page summary of the role of the Mentoring Team at Christ Community..
