SMALL GROUP HOST:

Small Group Hosts open their home -- or condo, apartment or dorm room -- to a group of 3-12 people for the purposes of spiritual growth, life-on-life community, mutual-ministry and serving.  The Host is not the group leader, but a vital support person for the leader and group in providing a comfortable setting for each group meeting, as well as coordinating food/refreshments as agreed-upon by the group.  We are always looking to raise up new group hosts for new groups of various kinds.   Small groups are the heart of our church's ministry to people.   Contact: Dick Dougherty at 970-405-1120 / dickd@cccgreeley.org.

GREETERS/HOSTS:

Each Greeter/Host serves as a vital part of the Christ Community Church Greeter Ministry Team and has the privilege of making a first impression to our guests, showing them they matter to us before they learn they matter to God.  Greeters/Hosts serve approximately once a month after at one of the weekend worship services with a team of other people.  If you are passionate about making people feel welcome and valued and have the ability to connect with people please contact Monica Gerber, Director of Connecting Ministries, at monicag@cccgreeley.org / 970-353-1159, x246 for information to become a Greeter/Host.   You may also click here to find out more.

USHERS:

Ushers help make sure that everyone gets a seat and a worship folder, attend to any logistical needs in the congregation during the service, take the offering, and also get current Christ Community information into everyone's hands ... literally.  An usher generally serves in one of the three weekend services, for one month out of every two.  If you are interested in learning more about this important ministry or if you would like to begin serving as an usher, please contact Jamie Doddridge at jamied@cccgreeley.org, or by calling the main office at 970-353-1159, x201.   You may also click here to find out more.

GATHERING PLACE HOSTS:

The Gathering Place is a relational space off of the church lobby where guests are encouraged to go after each service to get helpful information about the church, make some initial connections, and meet a member of the pastoral staff or two.   Each Gathering Place Host serves to welcome guests, and create a warm and inviting environment for them to learn about Christ Community and explore involvement.  Along with the Greeters/Hosts they have the privilege of making a first impression to our guests, showing them they matter to us before they learn they matter to God.  Gathering Place Hosts serve approximately once a month after at one of the weekend worship services with 1-2 other hosts and one of the pastors.  Contact: Monica Gerber at 353-1159, x246 / monicag@cccgreeley.org.

THE VINE'S BOOKSTORE CASHIERS AND CLERKS:

The Vine's Bookstore is Christ Community’s bookstore and media resource center located at the north end of the church lobby.  It is open before and after each weekend service, selling books, resources, sermon CD's, small group materials and other items.  It is always looking for people to serve on teams. If you love working in a fun and people-oriented environment, this is a great place to serve.  Retail and cashier experience helpful but not required.  Contact: Becky Shaffer (becky@weldar.com), Vince's Bookstore Manager.

15TH STREET CAFE BARISTAS AND HOSTS:

The 15th Street Café is Christ Community’s own coffee bar located on the west end of the south lobby. It is open before and after each weekend service, serving hot and cold specialty drinks, water and free coffee, donuts, cookies and other baked goods.  It is always looking for people to serve on teams. If you love working in a fun and people-oriented environment, this is a great place to serve. Contact: Scott Thompson, Café Manager, at 590-5415 / quadshot34@q.com.

ALPHA KITCHEN AND HOSPITALITY TEAM:

Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. Hundreds of spiritual seekers, new believers, previously-disconnected and spiritually curious have benefitted over the years from Alpha at Christ Community. The Alpha course includes a meal at the beginning of each session, which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere so essential for the evening. The Kitchen and Hospitality Team handle all aspects of the meal preparation, serving and clean-up of the food for each session, and are a vital part of the Alpha Ministry Team. Contact: Monica Gerber: 970-353-1159, x246 / monicag@cccgreeley.org.

FUNERAL SUPPORT TEAM:

On occasion, a team of people is needed to help meet specific needs during memorial services and funeral luncheons/receptions.  These needs include attending to logistical details, helping in the kitchen and/or preparing a portion of a light meal (cookies, fruit, salad, etc.).   It's a great way to make a loving impact on a family during a time of grief and loss.   Members of this team are not expected to offer skilled grief support or be counselors.   Contact: Cindy Chavez, Director of Care Ministries: 970-353-1159, x218 / cindyc@cccgreeley.org

MARRIAGE RETREAT HOSTS:

Throughout the year, Christ Community offers Marriage Retreats at the Invincible Lodge in Idaho Springs for couples to invest in their relationship with one another and with the Lord.  People who serve as hosts for Marriage Retreats provide behind-the-scenes support, hospitality and meal preparation/serving/clean-up, helping to create an inviting atmosphere for the retreat while enabling retreat leaders to concentrate on personal ministry to couples attending.   If you would like to learn more, please contact Sue at sardkr@juno.com or 330-4001.

SECURITY TEAM:

The Security Team provides security during all weekend services and church-wide special events.   The goal is to provide a safe environment for each person to experience community, worship and the ministry of God's Word.   And, in the unlikely event of an altercation or heightened alert, the members of this team provide leadership and direction in attending to a variety of details.   A number of law enforcement professionals in our church family are a part of this team, but it is not a requirement that members be employed in this field.   Contact: Doug Bowen at dougb@cccgreeley.org.

FEEDING THE WORSHIP TEAM:

Every Saturday on the 15th Street campus, the worship and tech teams are present from around 3:00-8:30pm working together to provide our church body with an experiential worship encounter with God.   It would be an enormous blessing to this team to have a rotating team of people prepare a meal for them to enjoy around 5:30pm, so the "grumbling in their stomachs" don't factor in to the sounds they make :-) .   If you're open to serving in this way on an agreed-upon rotation, contact Jamie at 353-1159 / jamied@cccgreeley.org
