You can apply to any of the positions listed below or you can donate to help with VBS!
The Teams:
The Set Build team:
This is a week-long commitment that takes place the week before VBS (June 2nd-6th). This team comes together to construct a massive set with paint, wood and nails. You will get dirty in this position, but the vision here is to capture the kids’ attention so that the Spirit can capture their hearts.
Crew Leader:
By far, it is through this position that you will have the most opportunity to directly build relationships with the children that attend this event. A Crew Leader comes in every day of VBS to lead his or her crew (a multi-age group of 5 children) through the daily adventures of Vacation Bible School. You will play games, lead prayers, and share laughter. These children will look up to you as you come to know them on a deep spiritual level. (You can lead a crew in the Preschool or Elementary VBS program).
Junior Crew Leader:
If you have the heart of a servant or a leader and are between 5th grade and the age of 16, this position is for you! Your job is to be focused on helping the Crew Leader of your crew. This may be helping the younger kids with the crafts or it may mean walking a kid to the bathroom. This is a serious role! You have the ability to really make a difference on the impact the kids receive from this event. (You can junior-lead a crew in the Preschool or Elementary VBS Program).
Nursery:
Do you love babies!?! (I do.) They’re pretty hard not to love. In this position, you will not only bless the babies with your love, but your service will bless the Station and Crew Leaders whose children you care for. Your service frees them so that they can answer the call God has given to them to serve in this ministry. (Ages: Infant to 2yrs of age).
Baby Beakers:
Because the Toddlers of our Crew and Station leaders want to be a part of the fun too, there is a curriculum that they participate in as well. It is age-appropriate and relies on the leadership of servant-hearted men or women to carry it out. Your ministry not only blesses these youngsters, it frees their parents- and ultimately blesses the kids that attend VBS. (Ages: 2yrs to 3yrs of age).
The Registration Team:
In this team, there are many opportunities to serve. The registration team plays a key role in the weeks prior to VBS and especially the week of. Imagine a confused parent who heard about our VBS from a friend (they’ve never attended church before and they are looking for someone to make this registration process easy for them). It is your friendly smile and ability to think on your feet that will primarily contribute to the parents’ perception of our church- and possibly the God we follow.
The Day-Before-Set-Up Team:
“Whew.” That’s a mouthful. This team is crucial. Members of this team work well under “crunch-time” scenarios. Much has to happen after the Sunday services to make our church ready for the many children who will be here Monday morning.
