The Kid's Konnection Volunteer:
This type of Kid's Konnection volunteer can serve as often as they desire. The responsibilities, for the most part, will not change, but commitment can vary from once a month to every weekend. The responisibilities of this volunteer are basically to lead by example. Engage with the kids in their world- have fun with them and show them that learning about God is fun!
I have heard from some volunteers that the more time they spend with the kids, the more they desire to come back. The relationships that are formed are what will feed the heart of this Kid’s Konnection Volunteer. The only prerequisite for serving in this position is that the volunteer must be engaging in some sort of spiritual nourishment. This may take place in the Middle School, High School or Adult Worship gatherings.
After your 1st serve opportunity, you will be asked to complete an application for this ministry. If you are not a parent of a child who attends Kid’s Konnection, in addition to an application, you will be asked to have 3 references support your application with reference letters (to be mailed out by the church). Applications are kept on file for reference purposes.

The Production Team:
The commitment for the Drama and A/V (Audio/ Visual) teams are the same. Though we ask you to sacrifice an entire weekend of services in a month, we will supplement you with a CD of the adult worship service. It is required that you be available to attend rehearsal for the weekend service; rehearsal is the Wednesday prior to the weekend you will be serving.
Drama team:
If you have signed up for the drama team, you are most likely someone who is comfortable being silly in front of others. This is a good thing; your role will fit your personality. Your responsibilities will change from week to week, but they should never be outside of your comfort level. You may be offered the opportunity to teach a small segment, lead worship, or play a serious role; though it is important to know your limitations, it is also important to challenge yourself. If the opportunity comes to do something out of the ordinary, do it!
In addition to the drama responsibilities you carry, you will also be asked from time to time to supplement the volunteer team during bench group time.
A/V team:
You play a crucial role and have an enormous responsibility in the A/V booth. You control the mood of the set (lighting), the volume of the voices, the critical timing in cues, and the supplemental media (anything having to do with our screen). If you have joined this team, you are comfortable with big responsibilities, but also like to be “behind the scenes”.

The Kindergarten Craft Team:
The Kindergarten Craft Team is a group of people who have a special place in their hearts for the younger kids at Kid’s Konnection. There is at least one Kindergarten Craft leader present at every Kid’s Konnection service, and their special role is to take the Kindergarten class to an area behind the stage where the kids will make a craft that reinforces the point of that day’s lesson. The Kindergarten Craft Leaders are also responsible for engaging the kids in conversation to make the craft relevant to their daily lives. Before returning to the Playhouse with all of the kids, the Kindergarten Craft Leader hands out the Kid’s Kash as well as, the weekend’s handout.

The 5th Grade Leadership Team:
Otherwise known as the “JAM” team, this team’s primary purpose is to invest into the leadership development of the 5th grade class. This is a high wattage position because it requires involvement every other weekend in Kid’s Konnection. Kid’s Konnection’s volunteer rotation alternates between the adult team and the 5th grade class every other week.
On the weeks that the 5th grade class is not the primary leadership team, they go upstairs (in the Playhouse) to “The Fifth Grade Room.” There, the leader will lead the kids in a discussion about the lesson learned in Kid’s Konnection that day. Sometimes this will involve pre-planning if supplemental materials are needed for the talk.
In addition, this volunteer will also participate in what is called the “JAM” (Jesus And Me). This is a monthly excursion for fifth graders only; one geared toward experiencing a spiritual truth in community.
