Imagine a city with 37,000 residents, only 1,500 of whom know Jesus in a personal way.
This scenario represents the Hispanic community in the Greeley/Evans area. Although half of the children in School District 6 are part of this population, few churches serve the increasing Hispanic sector of our community.
Project Beyond addresses this need. Initiative leaders and community members have developed a vital community network, and the focus is simple: Build a relationally-based church that develops and encourages leaders in the Latino population of Greeley.
Alex Acosta, a church planter from Peru, is working for Project Beyond. He and his wife are striving to build a network of Latino leaders who help in strategically reaching out into the Latino community. Some of the ways in which this is done is through English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, informative meetings and events, and through a new local mission to the migrant workers.
