Weddings

Christ Community Church desires to help you begin your life together in a special and meaningful way.  We're committed to invest in you and your marriage; although your wedding is important to us, our greatest concern during this time of  preparation will be that you are preparing for a marriage rooted solidly in God’s design for you as a couple.  A wedding performed in our church is a worship service in which both husband and wife publicly commit themselves to each other and to God.  If you are considering a wedding at Christ Community Church, please read the information below.

At Christ Community Church we are committed to helping you start your marriage on the most solid foundation possible.  Therefore, we have a number of steps that need to be followed in order for you to become involved in our pre-marital process.

First, please fill out the questionnaire and return it to the church office.  It is essential that this questionnaire be filled out without any input from your fiancé.  There is also a required standardized inventory, the Prepare/Enrich that may be completed at the church or online.  At the time you return your questionnaire, there is a $35.00 charge to Life Innovation for the scoring of this inventory which must be paid before you take it.

 Premarital Questionnaires

When the questionnaire and inventory have been completed you will be contacted by our Director of Soul Care and connected with a marriage mentor.  Please keep in mind that the Mentoring process can take around 6 months to complete.  You will meet with a mentor couple for a minimum of 6 sessions focusing on such issues as communication, conflict resolution, roles, finances, etc.  You will have an opportunity, in a safe environment, to ask questions you may have about marriage and relationships or to share concerns you have about your relationship with your fiancé.   Your wedding date will not go on the permanent church calendar until you have met with your mentors for a minimum of three sessions.  If at that time we feel we can comfortably endorse this marriage, we will put the date on the main calendar.

After beginning your mentoring meetings, you may contact our Wedding Coordinator, Lea Burden, 353-1159, to talk about your wedding plans and use of the church building.  A pastor will be assigned to you depending on availability.

Because marriage is a holy institution established by God, it is the policy of Christ Community Church that couples who desire to take part in our pre-marital process and be married by a CCC pastor may not be living together and /or having sexual relations.  This is a very important part of our pre-marital policy and it is equally important for each couple to honor God in this way.  If you have any questions about our policies, please contact the Director of Soul Care, Deanne Helmboldt, at 353-1159.

Thank you for helping us assist you in not only planning your very special day, but preparing you for a lifetime together.

May God bless you as you plan your future together.
